The FREEDOM series comprises three models: FREEDOM GP, XP and Xi. Designed for industrial applications including oil and gas, utilities, water treatment and laboratories, the detectors share a common electronic architecture intended to simplify servicing, standardise components and reduce total cost of ownership.
A key feature is the ability to replace detector cartridges while the equipment remains powered in a hazardous area, according to Teledyne. The company says this capability is designed to support operational continuity while reducing routine maintenance requirements.
The FREEDOM XP is engineered for explosive atmospheres and meets functional safety requirements including SIL 2/SC 3 High Demand certification. The FREEDOM Xi, meanwhile, is designed for use in harsh operating environments.
The range also supports configuration, calibration and diagnostics through Teledyne Gas and Flame SYNC (GF Sync), a Bluetooth-enabled mobile application. The app can generate certificates automatically, helping users manage compliance documentation and maintenance records.
Multicolour displays and peripheral LEDs provide visual indications of normal operation, faults and alarms, allowing personnel to identify detector status more easily.
Teledyne Gas and Flame Detection said the range was developed to make gas detection equipment easier to maintain while reducing costs over its operational lifecycle.
