- Kristian Hox has been confirmed as an IWMA Director.
- Paolo Bigatti will replace long-standing director Luciano Nigro, who is approaching retirement.
- Nigro has served on the IWMA Board since 2011 and has supported wider adoption of water mist technology.
Kristian Hox has been confirmed as a Director of the International Water Mist Association (IWMA), following the association’s annual members’ meeting in Hamburg on 6 October.
At the same meeting, Luciano Nigro of Jensen Hughes stepped down from the Board as he approaches retirement. His position will be taken by Jensen Hughes colleague Paolo Bigatti.
Nigro joined the IWMA Board in 2011 and has spent more than 15 years supporting the development and wider adoption of water mist technology.
Reflecting on his time with the association, Nigro highlighted the importance of making water mist systems practical and accessible for fire engineers.
He said fire engineers play an important role in determining whether the technology is adopted, adding that water mist needs to be straightforward and viable for those designing systems if it is to compete with more established fire protection solutions.
Nigro added: “I hope to be able to continue contributing to the association in some capacity because of my lifelong passion for water mist technology.”
The IWMA thanked Nigro for his contribution to the association and welcomed Bigatti to the Board.
