The Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC) has doubled down on the importance of strengthening its firefighting capabilities, saying the move forms part of its ongoing focus on safety and operational readiness.

The company’s Deputy Chief Executive Officer for Support Services, Kholoud Al-Mutairi, said improving the effectiveness of firefighting personnel is among KNPC’s top priorities. She added that this includes advanced training and qualification programmes for firefighters to prepare them better to respond to emergencies.

Al-Mutairi made the comments as part of the company’s efforts to enhance safety measures and emergency response across its facilities. While she did not provide specific details on new equipment or investments, the emphasis on training reflects KNPC’s ongoing commitment to workplace safety.

The Kuwait National Petroleum Company, a state-owned firm responsible for refining and marketing petroleum products in the country, operates major refinery complexes and has, in recent years, revealed the need for strong safety practices in line with industry standards.
