- Eligible non-Kuwaiti nationals can now be appointed as non-commissioned officers in the Kuwait Fire Force.
- Applicants will undergo security checks, with final appointments approved by the head of the force.

The ministerial decision, issued by Kuwait’s First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Fahd Al-Yousef, sets out the procedures and conditions governing the appointments.
Under the decision, non-Kuwaiti nationals may be considered for appointment where their Kuwaiti citizenship was withdrawn by decree under Clause 4 of Article 13 of Amiri Decree No. 15 of 1959 concerning the Kuwaiti Nationality Law and its amendments.
Appointments will be made through employment contracts and will be subject to security checks and other procedures carried out by the relevant authorities. The final decision on whether an applicant is accepted will rest with the head of the Kuwait Fire Force.
The new rules also provide for applicants’ previous training and professional qualifications to be taken into consideration. This includes courses and qualifications obtained through the General Fire Force’s Education and Training Institute.
The head of the force will establish the regulations governing the assessment of these qualifications and their impact on determining the appropriate job placement.
Those appointed will be subject to Law No. 13 of 2020 concerning the General Fire Force, together with the force’s regulations, decisions and instructions and the terms of their employment contracts.
A key condition of the new appointments is a five-year service commitment.
Successful applicants will be required to pledge to serve with the Kuwait Fire Force for five years. Their contracts may subsequently be renewed depending on the force’s requirements and its assessment of their service.
During their employment, recruits will be required to comply with the laws, regulations, decisions, orders and instructions governing the Kuwait Fire Force and to carry out the duties specified in their contracts.
The head of the Kuwait Fire Force, or an authorised representative, will also have the authority to transfer personnel or assign them to other duties where operational requirements make this necessary.
