As temperatures rise and UV levels increase, protecting outdoor workers from heat and sun exposure is becoming more important.

KASK is drawing attention to how adding sun protection to helmets can help reduce heat stress and protect against harmful ultraviolet rays in situations where workers need to be at their best- such as when working in high-rise buildings, or responding to emergencies outdoors.

Working in hot conditions can lead to fatigue, dehydration and poor concentration. These effects can increase the risk of accidents on site.

Long periods of UV exposure can also cause serious and long-term skin damage.

KASK helmets are designed with comfort in mind. They feature advanced ventilation channels, multiple air intakes and breathable inner padding to help keep workers cooler during the day.

To provide extra protection in sunny conditions, KASK helmets can be fitted with the Sun Shield and Neck Shade. Both accessories offer effective UVA and UVB protection with a UPF rating of 50+.

The KASK Sun Shield has a 360-degree brim. It helps protect the neck, face and ears from direct sunlight. The shield attaches easily to helmet lamp clips, works with all KASK helmets and includes a black underside to reduce sun glare.

The KASK Neck Shade provides adjustable protection for the neck and ears. It is designed to be ergonomic, breathable and comfortable, allowing freedom of movement while working. The Neck Shade is compatible with the Zenith, Primero and Superplasma helmet ranges.

By adding sun protection accessories to helmet systems, KASK aims to improve safety, comfort and long-term wellbeing for outdoor workers throughout the summer months.
