INTERSCHUTZ 2026 will bring the global fire, rescue, civil protection and safety community to Hannover from 1–6 June 2026 under the central theme “Safeguarding Tomorrow”. Exhibitors will present the latest vehicles, equipment, medical technologies and digital tools designed to help emergency services manage rising call volumes, more complex incidents and mounting climate-related risks.

Alongside the exhibition, a comprehensive conference and training programme will address operational readiness, inter-agency coordination, volunteer recruitment and retention, and the integration of digital technologies into daily emergency response. International delegations from fire and civil defence authorities, aid organisations and industry will use the event to exchange best practice and explore new partnerships.

“The demands placed on emergency medical services are changing noticeably worldwide,” says Hendrik Rawe, Global Director INTERSCHUTZ at Deutsche Messe AG. “International cooperation makes it possible to look beyond national systems. The exchange of experiences and solutions strengthens the resilience of emergency response structures – and helps save lives.”

Key focus areas for INTERSCHUTZ 2026 include:

  • Climate resilience and large-scale incident response, including wildfires, floods and extreme weather.
  • Digital transformation in the control room, from data-driven dispatch to networked command-and-control solutions.
  • Health, safety and wellbeing for first responders, including ergonomic equipment, mental health support and improved occupational safety.
  • Cross-border cooperation and standardisation to support faster, more coordinated disaster relief.

Major exhibitors such as Stryker, Ferno and Holmatro will showcase next-generation rescue tools, stretchers, medical devices and vehicle technology, alongside integrated systems providers and software specialists. Live demonstrations will highlight how connected solutions can improve situational awareness, speed up decision-making and enhance safety for both responders and the public.

For the first time, the Fédération of the European Union Fire Officers Associations (FEU) will stage its Leadership Conference as part of INTERSCHUTZ 2026. Senior fire officers, policymakers and experts will discuss how to lead organisations through simultaneous crises, resource constraints and rapid technological change.

Conference sessions are expected to cover strategic planning, workforce development, digital skills and cooperation with other blue-light services and critical infrastructure operators. The FEU Leadership Conference will complement the show’s technical forums, creating a bridge between operational innovation on the show floor and long-term leadership challenges.
