- Hytrans has deployed additional mobile water transport equipment to support wildfire operations in France.
- Deployment includes two HydroSub 150 units and 4,000 metres of hose to boost long-distance water supply.
- Equipment will supplement existing Hytrans systems already used by French Civil Defence and fire services.
The deployment includes a truck carrying two HydroSub 150 units and a HoseLayerContainer equipped with 4,000 metres of hose, couplings and spare parts. According to the company, the equipment is designed to increase the capacity to transport large volumes of water over long distances to wildfire incidents.
The additional resources are intended to support French emergency services as they respond to the current wildfire situation, where the scale of the incidents has placed significant pressure on available firefighting capacity.
Hytrans said the French Civil Defence and a number of French fire departments already use its mobile water transport systems. The additional equipment is intended to complement existing operational capability and can be deployed where required.
Based in Lemmer, the Netherlands, Hytrans develops and manufactures mobile water transport systems for fire and rescue services, emergency responders and industrial users. The systems are used for a range of large-scale incidents, including wildfires, industrial emergencies and flooding, where significant water transport capability is required.
Martin Maasland, CEO of Hytrans, said: “We are proud that Hytrans can contribute to the fight against wildfires in France. Our appreciation goes to all the firefighters and first responders who are working in difficult conditions to protect people, nature, and property.”
