17 Oct Tumble dryer recall

Following a blaze in an 18-storey  tower block which took 120 firefighters to bring under control The London Fire Brigade has renewed its campaign to get a total recall of the type of tumble dryer which an official investigation has blamed for the cause of the fire.

The Brigade’s Director of Operation Dave Brown said “This fire has highlighted just how dangerous faulty white goods can be.”

Indesit, the manufacturers of The Whirlpool Brand, maintain that the affected driers can still be used while they are waiting to be modified so long as they are not left unattended.

However, the Brigade’s Director of Operations Dave Brown said “This fire has highlighted just how dangerous faulty white good can be.”

“The Brigade strongly disagrees and is urging anyone with one of the models in question to immediately unplug the machine and stop using it.”
