BMW recall

14 Nov BMW recall

The German manufacturer BMW has started a recall of more than 1.4 million cars and SUVs in North America  two due to the risk of fires starting under their hoods.

The danger has been identified in 16 different 6-cylinder models of the vehicles BMW produced and sold between 2007 and 2011 with repairs expected to start in December.

Documents posted by the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration show that a heater for the positive crankcase ventilation valve can overheat and cause the valve to melt, increasing the risk of a fire even when the vehicle is not in use. No injuries have been reported. Dealers will replace the heater.
